How to print posts
Hello everyone! I have decided to add a “print” option on all of my recipe posts. This way you can change which pictures you want to print (saving ink and paper) and you can even change what paragraphs you want to print (saving ink, time, AND paper).
I’m going through a website called Print Friendly, perhaps someday I can have all of these options available directly on my blog rather than from another website.
Here’s what you’ll do. Click the Print this post link at the bottom of any post that features a recipe. This will take you to the Print Friendly webpage. You do need to insert the webpage that you’d like to print on Print Friendly. If you are on my homepage (where you can scroll down and see all of my posts) then you need to click on a specific post to get the specific webpage. If you input my homepage address (aveena.wordpress.com) it won’t work, plus that’s alot of ink!
This picture is after I inserted the post I wanted to print. The highlighted area just shows that you can select entire paragraphs to delete before you print. The same highlighting shows up if you move your mouse over a picture that you may want to delete.
Once you’ve deleted the stuff you don’t want to print you can print the post! You can also change it into a PDF form on Print Friendly if you want.
One thing I have noticed is that I had to fix my printer margins the first time I printed, otherwise the entire left side of the post got cut off when it printed. Here’s how you can change your printer margins if this problem does come up.
After you inserted the webpage you want to print, RIGHT click anywhere on the text to get a menu. Select Print Preview.
On the print preview screen you can either temporarily adjust the margins by adjusting the little arrows on the corners of the preview of the page. If you want to make it long term then select the “page setup” tab on the top of the page, it looks like a little gear. Adjust the margins to whatever you want! I adjusted all of my margins (top/bottom and left/right) to .5.
Hopefully you won’t have any problems with printing, but if you do please let me know and hopefully I can help you figure it out!
Have fun printing!
